It is an undesputable fact that increased awareness of security issues and procedures reduces the risk of an incident or security breach. This manifests itself through a number of channels, both with respect to accidental and malicious threats.

All employees, therefore, should aim to be as familiar with the organization's security requirements as they are with their own job functions. Employees and agents should also be helped to enhance their general security awareness by the organization itself. They must also be instructed about the specific information security measures they are expected to undertake as part of their jobs.

INDUCTION - THE STARTING POINT
Induction is the process of making employees aware of key information about the organization and the terms and conditions of employment. The induction training process should also incorporate the organization's requirements from the employee in respect of information security, as well as instruction in security generally.

Induction training basically is the first step of many. The final objective should be to ensure that security awareness is part and parcel of the organization's culture.
